IMPORTANT NEWS:

Our next team learning competition will be in February. This time,
it will involve several grade levels and should be far more exciting.
I am working with many teachers to build this into a spectacular
event allowing the students to showcase their learning and abilities.

The students will begin requesting to test on standards in their
Data notebooks when they believe they are ready to demonstrate
Competence with specific learning tasks.
Things to remember:
Please send a snack with your student daily.

Reading:

This semester we only have half as many older students involved in
our reading partners program during Wolftime. It would be helpful
if parents have time to read with their students at home to offset
this. If you would like to read at home, I am happy to assist with
finding the Right book for you and your child.

Writing:
We have begun learning how to build slide show presentations. This
week the students will begin building slide shows of their science
lessons. We plan to study how chemicals react along with learning
about circuits.

Math:
We are learning how to tell time, measuring / estimating length,
and money. Of course, we are always working on addition, subtraction
and place value. We have seen some great improvements recently.

We will also begin learning about shapes and fractions this week.

Please encourage your student to do Xtramath at home, they are really
showing progress now and not missing days will help them reach their
certificates faster.

Code:
Many students have really responded to the inclusion of learning
computer coding each day. It is challenging their creativity, analytical
ability and capacity for problem solving. It’s also quite exciting to see
what they are already capable of, they are learning incredibly fast.

Please contact me anytime you have a question or a concern!
Thank you and have a great week,

Mr. Clark
