IMPORTANT NEWS:
Don’t forget our Learning Party on Thursday, December 13th at 6:00.
Please share any ideas you might have to make this event special. The
primary goal is for the students to be able to share what they have
learned and what they are planning on learning after Christmas break.
I would like to encourage them to invite anyone that they want to
share with.

The students are building Data Notebooks that will help them display the
things they are learning. These will include their assessment scores along
with some of their work and the projects that they have participated in
as a class.

Things to remember:
Please send a snack with your student daily.

Reading:
I have split the spelling words into two groups, by grade level. Students will
test according to their grade level. We will also continue to work with
vocabulary words. If you have any questions, please contact me.

For our morning reading assignments, we now have choices. That means
your student gets to choose which article they read from a list of
options.

Many of you have started chapter books, it is important to talk about
what has already happened before continuing on with the next chapter.
Sometimes it can also be fun to try and guess what might happen next.
Please focus on having fun, reading should never be a burden, it should
be a special time.

Writing:
This week we will be working on writing invitation letters for our learning
party. You should see these come home once they are completed.

Math:
We are learning how to tell time, measuring / estimating length,
and money. Of course, we are always working on addition, subtraction
and place value. We have seen some great improvements recently.

Please encourage your student to do Xtramath at home, they are really
showing progress now and not missing days will help them reach their
certificates faster.

Student Learning Report:
I learned how to count money.
I learned about music.
I learned about pumpkins.
I learned how to be safe today.
I learned how to be careful with people.
I learned about cats.
I learned about art.
I learned to be friends and not fight anymore.

Please contact me anytime you have a question or a concern!
Thank you and have a great week,

Mr. Clark
