IMPORTANT NEWS:
We have sent home our letter planning the classroom learning party on Thursday, December 13th. Please share any ideas you might have to make this event special. The primary goal is for the students to be able to share what they have learned and what they are planning on learning after Christmas break. I would like to encourage them to invite anyone that they want to share with.

The students are building Data Notebooks that will help them display the things they are learning. These will include their assessment scores along with some of their work and the projects that they have participated in as a class.

Things to remember:
Please send a snack with your student daily.

Reading:
I have split the spelling words into two groups, by grade level. Students will
test according to their grade level. We will also continue to work with
vocabulary words. If you have any questions, please contact me.

For our morning reading assignments, we now have choices. That means
your student gets to choose which article they read from a list of
options. This week we are learning about everything from the Supreme
Courtto string instruments in the symphony orchestra and George
Washington.

Many of you have started chapter books, it is important to talk about
what has already happened before continuing on with the next chapter.
Sometimes it can also be fun to try and guess what might happen next.
Please focus on having fun, reading should never be a burden, it should
be a special time.

Writing:
Our writing project will continue this week. We will be writing our
own stories, our second creative writing project. This time we are
challenging ourselves with a longer story.

Math:
We are learning how to tell time, and starting to learn measuring
skills and money. Of course, we are always working on addition, subtraction
and place value. We have seen some great improvements recently.

Please encourage your student to do Xtramath at home, they are really
showing progress now and not missing days will help them reach their
certificates faster.

Student Learning Report:
I need help with helping our classmates.
I learned to count a lot more money.
I am proud of getting my xtramath done on the weekend.
I learned to get my work done in time.
That families are good.
I learned about quotation marks.
I am proud of my story.

Please contact me anytime you have a question or a concern!
Thank you and have a great week,

Mr. Clark
